Freemason is one of the world’s oldest organizations that existed over the centuries, it was believed to have started on the 16th century in Scotland, but some people claimed it originated in England.
Freemasons are labeled by their rings and organization icons. Their organization icon is made up of a square tool, a compass, and the letter G. These icons have an important meaning to the organization. The square tool is a tool for carpenters that represents the mason’s wideness of actions since it is in a 90 degrees angle; and the second icon, is the compass, it is a hinge device used to draw a perfect circle, this icon represents the mason’s intention to draw boundaries with their desires and passion in life; the third and last icon for the masons is the letter G that represents God, Geometry, and Generative Principle.
Until this day, freemasons have been fast growing. It obtained millions and millions of members all over the world. They select members from the elite class and put them in public position to become influential members of the society. America’s first president, George Washington was known to be a freemason when upon taking the presidential oath of office; he uses the bible of the freemasons to swear in. And he was not the last, it has been reported that there were fourteen American presidents who were freemasons.
However, what made the public interested about the freemasons are their organization secrets, they were not open to the public on what their real beliefs are, what they stand for, what their philosophy is, and what is the purpose of the Masonic lodges that are present in many cities of America, England and Scotland.
For centuries, the members of the freemason played an important role in politics, science, business, literature and geography. Most of the time people find it difficult to classify the freemasons, so they describe freemasons according to its members who have become influential in the society and thus making the freemasons interesting to eyes and ears of the public leaving the questions, who are they? And how did the organization helped them to attain superb achievements?
Across the land and across the countries, there are millions of freemasons, which are identified by the existence of Masonic lodges, organization icons, their rings, and car plates. However, still freemasons are best known for their secrecy that is centered on the initiation rites into the three degrees of freemasonry; the apprentice, the craft, and the master mason. Nobody knows the ultimate purpose of keeping these secrets. Their conspiracy invokes so much apprehension to the public, rumors said that freemasons are very influential that they are willing to obliterate anything or anyone that would challenge them, an example was the 1982 Calvi death and the 2004 shooting death of William James in New York. Both Calvi and William James were freemasons, and they were believed to have broken the secrets of the organization thus resulting to their death.
The society believed that activities and initiation rites of the masons are maintained as the secret for death will be the retribution once secrets are revealed by its members. However, in reality, nobody really knows the truth behind the freemasons, what they really stand for, what their beliefs are, and philosophies. Nobody can really tell, unless they will become freemasons themselves.
